t35 summer Newsletter

We hope that everyone in the UWFM community had a wonderful Summer! Since our last newsletter, we have had the opportunity to drive down to Michigan to participate in the 2023 Formula SAE Electric Competition! It was a whirlwind of a week getting the car prepped and ready to race! We are incredibly proud of all our directors, leads, and members who made it possible for us to take home third place out of 67 teams! Competition marked our last "OoRah!" for the T34 season and a final farewell to our hard-working seniors! We wish all of our seniors the best of luck in the next chapter of their lives, and to keep us in mind when Alumni Design Reviews (ADRs) roll around! Looking ahead, we are investing in the next generation of bright, bushy-tailed engineers, with the onboarding of new members for this season. We are also starting our search for sponsors and donors for our program - with your support we can come back bigger and better than ever! Let's start the T35 season off with a bang!

T34 Competition

In June, we competed at the 2023 Formula SAE Electric Competition and took home 3rd place out of 67 teams! We placed highly in most of the events, taking 2nd in Endurance and Business Presentation, 3rd in Acceleration and Autocross, and 5th in Design! We are so proud of our hard-working team members and thankful to all our sponsors and supporters for making this feat possible! If you would like to support us so we can reach for higher at next year's competition, please consider donating to our Crowdfunding Campaign! Public Relations Team Update

Over the Summer, our PR members have been busy! Here's a quick recap of what we have been up to...

Electrify Expo
We had the opportunity to show off our car at Electrify Expo thanks to the help of Neil Tjin! Our members got to speak with the greater Seattle community about our car and the future of EV technology! We received the award of "Best Performance," and we are extremely honored! We would love to have the chance to come back next year!

Westfield Car Show
A few weeks later, we showcased our car at Westfield Southcenter thanks to Phillip Ussery! We had a wonderful time interacting with the public and seeing all the other exhibits! Lots of children, teens, and families were able to take lots of pictures with our car to show off! Thank you for the opportunity for us to be able to participate in the show!

UW Tabling Events
Last week, our PR members were all over campus talking to students from all different majors and backgrounds about what we do as a club! Many prospective members had the chance to ask team members about their experiences being on the team as well as how they themselves could get involved! We love public engagement and hope to hold more events with the greater UW community!

Dawg Daze Jeopardy
This marked the first year that UW Formula Motorsports participated in a Dawg Daze event! We had 80+ students come to Mary Gates on an extremely soggy day to play some team trivia with us! It was a little chaotic, but exhilarating at the same time to see the teams battle it out for the win! Thank you all to those who came and helped out!
